The summer has set in and new listings are few. This is no surprise since most of the town has gone AWOL until after Labor Day. If you are looking for a home, unless it is in the upper price ranges of $2.5million or above, the choices are slim. Anything new that comes on the market- if it's a value, sells immediately.Rentals are basically all gone again except in the upper price reaches. However, I will be listing a rental on a...Continue Reading!
Here is an update on the Stamford,Ct. Harbor Point project which I have written about in the past. In spite of what the Times calls a "speed bump",it doesnt change the fact that this is and will be a great place to live. It just might take a little longer.http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/26/realestate/connecticut-in-the-region-stamford-development-hits-a-speed-bump.html?partner=rss&emc=rss If you are interested in seeing the apartments just contact me at 203-554-0951. I've written before about Harbor Point the unbelievable new residential, rental, community in Stamford's South End. Once the home of small factories, auto body shops and vacant lots,Harbor Point is a development worthy of the Romans...There are several rental properties which have become the talk of the town. The Lockworks,The Lofts and 101 Park. All are totally unique rentals, one two and three bedrooms and they are EXTREMELY popular. I had lunch with a friend today who reminded me that you can remember...Continue Reading!
There are lots of reasons people choose to rent in Darien. They can be renovating a home elsewhere, haven't found the home of their dreams in town or are test driving the area, so to speak. Then there are those that have bought a new home and found they were unable to sell their previous home and so list it for rent. Whatever the reason, there are currently around 30 properties for rent in Darien Ct in the price range of around...Continue Reading!
Last week, I had the opportunity to visit 101 Park Place , a brand new luxury rental building that has just opened in the new Harbor Point development in Stamford, CT.In case you don't know,Harbor Point is an amazing project. It bills itself as "lifestyle oriented community" that marries urban convenience with waterfront living. The development is massive in scale and will, when all is said and done, house residential, office, hotel and retail development contained within five distinct neighborhoods.Harbor Point is located in...Continue Reading!
This weeks New York Times, Real Estate section ran an accurate article about home rental conditions in Darien,CT and surrounding towns. They include the rentals at Yale and Towne in Stamford which I wrote a post about a few weeks ago. The market for Fairfield County rentals is tight and anyone looking would be well served by reading the article. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/22/realestate/22wczo.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=in%20the%20region%20connecticut&st=cseContinue Reading!
For one reason or another the rental market in Fairfield County is on fire. No sooner do homes for rent come on the market as they seem to disappear. Its not uncommon for a rental to be listed and leased in one day. During the dog days of August, I think people are looking last minute to get their children in school or have given up for the year on finding their dream home. Whatever the case, it takes a good Realtor...Continue Reading!
I wish I had a dollar for every phone call we've received at William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty for reasonable rental apartments.Typically, people are looking for apartments near to the train in the $2000-$4000/month range. Young professionals who are not ready to buy, but work in the Stamford area are particularly interested in these properties. Its not an easy find, until now. (more…)Continue Reading!
