Fireworks 2010,Darien and New Canaan

For years every July 4th, the Town of Darien had one of the best fireworks shows around.They were held on the grounds of the Darien High School and hundreds of families attended the free event. Then budgetary concerns and a new high school building prevented the festivities from continuing.

The next best thing in these parts is to attend the event of our sister town,New Canaan.For Darienites,its a 3-5 mile drive to Waveny Park for one of the best shows in the area. This years event marks the 30th anniversary of the show and will be held on Sunday,July 4th.

But you have to do some planning to get in.Each car requires an entry pass and they must be purchased in advance. The cost to residents is $30/car and non residents is $60/car. Passes can be purchased at the Recreation Dept at Waveny House through July 2 and at the New Canaan Town Hall from 10-2 on July 3.
