People often tell me that they are interested in buying a home to Darien,Ct because it is a small town. The population of Darien is about 18,000 and many of the comforts of small town life exist side by side with chain stores and restaurants. Greibs is a pharmacy in the old fashioned sense of the word. The staff knows you by name an never lets anyone wait more than a minute before they ask if you are being helped. If anything ,Griebs is overstaffed. There are always multiple,local residents working behind the counter and all are knowledgeable and pleasant. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than ten minutes for a prescription to be filled. The pharmacists are extremely knowledgeable and will happily come out from behind the counter to consult.

Griebs will phone your physician if your prescription has run out, takes refill orders promptly over the phone or in person and has from time to time even tussled with an insurance company for me. The greatest service Griebs offers though is HOME DELIVERY. For a nominal charge, Griebs will deliver prescriptions to your front door. The service is invaluable to  Darien seniors who can’t get out, young mothers with sick children and just anyone who doesnt have the time to pick up before closing. Griebs is open seven days a week and is truly a small town treasure.

In addition, the store carries a full line of health and beauty aids as well as small gifts.
