Cultural Activities Abound Around Darien,CT

A few weeks ago I asked a friend of mine who is raising a family in New York City why they hadn’t considered moving to the suburbs. Her reply was,”It’s too sterile.” I was too taken back to ask what that meant or whether she considered Darien to be “sterile”. doctor in mask

Now I’m aware that the local bars and restaurants in Darien CT are not open until 4AM and the King Tut exhibit won’t be setting up in town but …..”sterile?” Really?

With that conversation in mind, I combed the Darien papers and websites to see what was going on in the area this week .If you’re considering Darien or Fairfield County real estate you’ll be happy to know that I was able to find something for everyone. Here are just a few of the possibilities.

This is just a smattering of what I found and doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of art and photogrpahy exhibits, local theatre, lectures and fall festivals. For a full list of activites and events go to www.DarienTimes.com

I guess “sterile” is in the eye of the beholder.
